The arid and semi-arid regions in Asian continent are important areas for dust emission.During a dust emission process, small soil particles rich in nutrient and organic matter become suspended and dispersed away from the surface by atmospheric turbulence and are transported over distances up to thousands of kilometers. While these dust particles are deposited into Chinese Oceans,Japanese Oceans and even the remote North Pacific, the Aeolian Fe and other trace elements taken by the particles will supply nutriments for phytoplankton, and then influence the ocean primary productivity (OPP).The change of OPP will influence the air-sea flux of CO2 and other long-lived radiatively-active gases, which will impact on climate system. Therefore, dust emission, transportation and deposition are not only disaster for people, but also have broad effects on climate and environment.
