We used an action research, case study method with grounded theory data analysis techniques to evaluate, through a questionnaire, a 12-week combined lifestyle program, which included strategies for a healthful diet, physical activity, and behavioral strategies to facilitate diet and physical activity.The program was based on the 5As framework.On the whole, we noted that responses reflected that participants found that they could change and move forward.This analysis also captured a relatively small number of responses reflecting delayed or lack of action and accompanying excuses or rationalizations.Our analysis outlines improvements in goal setting, exercise, and social support aspects to be integrated into the current wellness program and the plans for future health promotion programs at the community site.
