Members of the actinomycetes have long been recognized as prolific producers of useful bioactive compounds [1] The search for novel antibiotics and other bioactive microbial metabolites is important for the fight against new and emerging pathogens [1.2,3].Isolation of actinomycetes from unusual natural habitat tS of interest to avoid re-isolation of strains that produce known bioactive metabolites. In this study, actinomycetes were isolated from caves in Khao No-Khao Kaeo limestone karsts, the area which formed 440 million years ago.
