1矿床地质背景水埠头锰矿位于华南准地台的桂湘赣褶皱带中的祁零盆地南西部,北北西向花桥-石岩头复式向斜的中部(姚敬劬,1998)。区内褶皱、断裂较发育。区域内除第三纪地层外,自震旦—第四纪地层均有出露。其中震旦—奥陶纪地层分布于祁零盆地周边的越城岭及阳明山隆起带,为一套浅海相碎屑岩、硅质岩夹碳酸盐岩,构成了区内基底,其中富含锰、金、锑等成矿物质,为盆地内提供了丰富的沉积和成矿物质,为古生代以来祁零盆地陆源碎屑的主要来源(傅群和,2001)。区内构造十分复杂,规模
