The national demonstration project of renewable energy building in Huazhong University of Science and Technology is dedicated to construct office building using several kinds of renewable energy together to adjust indoor temperature and comfort level in bidirectional climate area in China.To begin with, the project has taken advantages of Active Dynamic Air Envelope (ADAE) by flowing air layer and Climate Adaptive Windows.As an element of the Under-floor Air Distribution System (UADS), the fresh air after heat exchanges in ventilation system blows through the radiators under-floor in which circulated water contains geothermal source to adjust indoor comfort levels directly because of annul underground temperature balance in bidirectional climate area.The total annul power consumption of the building including comfort level regulation system is no more than the annul power generated by solar cells on building roof.The flat-plat air coolers and solar water heaters are used to absorb atmosphere or solar energy to restore shallow geothermal source in spring or in autumn for out-of-season use.This project is also hoped to achieve the goals for saving energy, land and water, building materials along with environmental protection and reducing carbon emission.
