According to Novozyme s annual report (2009), total market for the industrial enzyme is about 20 billion Chinese Yuan.As development of bioenergy progresses rapidly, huge amount of cellulases and hemi-cellulases will be used for biomass conversions, the enzyme market development will be in a high speed train in the next a few years.However, Chinese enzyme companies share only less than 10% of global enzyme market.Our first and urgently needed task is to develop new enzymes with intellectual property right for the Chinese enzyme industrial.
