In this talk, Ill focus on some classes of nonlinear wave equations including the pressure-gradient equation from fluid dynamics, liquid crystal equation, steady poten tial flow equation with supersonic speed, and unsteady potential equation in poston problem.In particular, I will give a systematic survey on the global existence and stability of a supersonic conic shock a supersonic potential flow hits a sharp cone.
