  Influence of ethanol on inactivative effects of pressure assisted thermal sterilization on bacillus subtilis spores were studied, and the control and treated spores were examined with scanning electrinic microscopy.A special phenomenon was found.Ethanol of low concentration could enhance the sterilization effects of PATS on the spores, but with the increase of ethanol concentration, ethanol could protect the spores from PATS.
