白垩中的微孔是世界上一种重要的碳酸盐岩储层类型。本文详细阐述了白垩、真白垩、白垩状结构的定义、特征、沉积环境、分布范围，白垩储层的特征和控制因素。白垩类的储集层分布层系非常集中，主要分布在白垩系和古近系等地层中，这与颗石藻的发育时代(晚三叠世出现，早侏罗世至今大量存在)相符，为了指导勘探实际，白垩状结构的含义不应被扩大化，而应专指白垩储层。本文识别了白垩储层中3 类主要的储集空间和4 种控制白垩储层发育的因素。
