Appling a thermochemical liquefaction process to convert marine microalgae,Dunaliella tertiolecta(DT) and their industrial by products,Dunaliella tertiolecta residues(DTR) into bio-oils(MO-1,MO-2)in the presence of water at high temperature(about 320-360℃) and high pressure(about 20MPa). The experimental results show that the yield of bio-oils was significantly influenced by the chemical components of raw materials. These algae biomass with high crude fat content are beneficial to product bio-oils. The detailed compositional analysis of bio-oils was carried out by Elemental analyzer,Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy(FT-IR) and gas chromatography-mass spectrometry(GC-MS). The empirical formula of oil MO-1 and oil MO-2 with a heating value of 26.62 MJ/kg and 30.74 MJ/kg were established as CH1.38O0.43N0.07 and CH1.44O0.29N0.05,respectively. The analytical results also show the most components in the hexane fraction separated from the oil MO-1 are hexadecanoic acid and palmitamice, however,Oil MO-2 contains mostly compounds including benzofuranone, octadecadi enoic acid, palmitic acid methyl ester and paimitamide.
