Nursing care provided to patients of lung cancer improves the quality of life of the patients and that of their family members and also helps the patients maintain their best condition and experience a good quality of living throughout their terminal lives.A recent development in the theory of quality of life involves the focus on palliative care as a comprehensive treatment for the tumor and even as a discipline in itself. The concept of palliative care arose in a timely moment, in 1990, when WHO expounded on the definition of palliative care: to ensure life, believe that death is a normal process at the same time; neither speed up nor slow down death; reduce or remove the pain and other symptoms; treatment and care should include psychological and spiritual aspects and such; an active support system should be maintained as much as possible throughout the patients life and until his/her death; support systems help the families from the stage of patient sickness and to the death and bereavement.
