Highly ordered P(VDF-TrFE) nanocrystal assemblies with interesting circular network patterns were formed by using a template-flee solution method.Piezoresponse force microscopy and infrared reflection spectra revealed that the molecular dipoles in the nanocrystals were on average preferentially oriented parallel to the substrate plane, while the macromolecular backbones were perpendicularly oriented.High resolution atomic force microscopy indicated that the nanocrystals actually had a special boat like shape.The anisotropic piezoelectric response of the nanocrystals indicates that they are promising for novel nanoscale devices such as organic non-volatile memory and energy-harvesting devices, etc.
