Sclerotinia sclerotiorum causes a devastating disease in oilseed rape (Brassica napus)resulting in a tremendous yield loss world-wide.In previous study, we have found that overexpressing BnWRKY33 showed markedly enhanced resistance to S.sclerotiorum.In this study, we cloned WRP1 gene from Brassica napus, named BnWRP1 (WRKY33-related protein 1), coding a WRP 1 protein which is associated with Bn WRKY33.Further, we found overexpressing BnWRP1 showed obviously enhanced resistance to S.sclerotiorum,constitutive activation of the expression of BnPR1 and BnPDF1.2, while RNA interference of BnWRP1 showed suppression of resistance.
