@@ Heart rate variability (HRV) refers to beat to beat (R-R) variations in HR, which is an useful and noninvasive measure of cardiovascular autonomic activity. HRV contains a lot of information about the cardiovascular regulation, while subtracting and analyzing the information of HRV can offer a quantitative evaluation of the tenseness and the balance of the sympathetic and parasympathetic activities and their effects on cardiovascular system[1]. With the development of anesthesiology, the analysis of HRV has been the focus of attention. Anesthetics, anesthesia and surgical procedure can significantly affect autonomic nervous system(ANS), followed by evident HRV changes. In recent years, the methods used for the analysis of HRV are mainly time-domain analysis and frequency-domain analysis[2]. The characteristics of HRV are nonlinear dynamics[3], while the nonlinear analysis is seldom used. The purpose of this study is to explore the evaluation of cardiac ANS by using the nonlinear analysis under the general anesthesia .
