Recent years have seen increasing applications of biodegradable metallic materials as a surgical implant.Fe35Mn alloy is such a candidate. However corrosion rate of the dense Fe35Mn alloy is still slow as shown in the previous work.In this study,a Fe35wt%Mn alloy was produced by a simple press-and-sinter process from blended elemental powder and mechanically milled powder.Microstructural characterization was carried out on the as-sintered samples using scanning electron microscopy. The electrochemical behavior of the as-sintered samples was examined using potentiodynamic polarization measurements in 5% NaCl solution.
