Carbohydrate‐protein interactions have been recognized to play very important function in a wide variety of biological processes,including cell growth regulation,differentiation,adhesion,cancer cell metastasis,cellular trafficking,inflammation,and the immune response.Because of their essential role in the maintenance of diverse biological systems,much attention is currently focused on the design and synthesis of carbohydrate‐based units for investigating carbohydrate‐protein interaction events.In the recently years,a series of supramolecular multivalent glycoclusters,fluorescent multivalent glycoclusters and glycodendrimer based on perylene bisimide derivatives have been synthesized.Their binding interactions with Con A lectin,PNA lectin and macrophage cells were investigated by UV‐Vis,fluorescence,circular dichroism,turbidity assay,ELLA experiment and fluorescence imaging.These results indicated that multivalent glyclusters based on perylene bisimide derivatives showed selectively binding interaction with lectins and cells.
