The Syncardia Total Artificial Heart (TAH) is the only clinically available TAH that is utilized as a bridge to transplant (BTT).It is a pneumatic, pulsatile device that totally rePlaces the failing ventricles.Indications for the use of the TAH include: biventricular failure and post-transplant graft failure in patients who are candidates forheart transplantation or retransplantation, It is usually reserved for the sickest patients in cardiogenic shock with the worstt prognosis.
