KSHV ORF57 plays an essential role in the regulation of viral gene expression and virus production.However, little is known about the regulation of ORF57 itself.Bioinformatics and biochemical analyses indicate that ORF57 contains two structurally and functionally distinct domains: the N-terminal domain (aa 1-152) consisting mainly of structurally disordered polypeptide and the structured C-terminal (aa 153-455) domain containing multiple alphahelixes.
