Benzene is generally considered as one of the most important volatile organic compounds(VOCs),has been indentified as carcinogens.In the present study,a novel surface packed-bed hybrid discharge reactor(SPBHD),a novel two single discharge plasma reactor(a surface discharge reactor and a packed-bed discharge reactor)in series(TSDP)powered by different kinds of supply modes,have been developed and is used to efficiently destroy benzene in gas phase.Experimental results showed that 67%of benzene could be smoothly removed in SPBHD in the case of 394 J/L,while the benzene conversion efficiency were 49,57.8%when the SED were 309,597 J/L,respectively.In SPBHD,increasing pitches of inner diameter was found to be favorable for benzene degradation efficiency,however,led to reduction of carbon balance.
