In gas chromatographic analysis the initial temperature of an air bath oven is typically limited by the tolerable length of cool down and equilibration. This results in initial oven temperatures in the range of 35-40℃ and cool down times of 8 to 10 minutes or more.Recent innovations in oven design have created a gas chromatograph capable of quickly reaching temperatures as little as 3-4℃ above ambient. The enabling design features of this GC oven create a unique air flow path, reduce thermal mass, and utilize a variable speed fan.
