The authors investigated effective use of free online resources in English learning last year.In this paper they took a survey for both Japanese and Korean university students.They clarified that there is only a few students who could use online resources continuously.They pointed out one of the tendency that both Japanese and Korean students who are studying English are motivated by instrumental motivation.They suggested it is necessary to keep a balance between instrumental and integrative motivation to study continuously.In this study,the authors will design and practice “Social Learning” in the social networking service by themselves based on the knowledge obtained from earlier studies of Social Learning,aiming at keeping the level of those two motivations high during English learning.For example,they are planning to share what they learned and give comments each other.While introducing this learning style,they will provide a questionnaire survey before and after their practice and analyze the shift in motivation of targets.Finally,the authors discuss key factors to be successful learners by analyzing data collected from above mentioned practice and questionnaire survey.
