Biological soil activity is one of the most susceptible indicators of environmental changes. It directly depends upon many ecological factors including anthropogenic ones.Indicators of biological activity may be quantitative characteristics of the number and biomass of different groups of soil biota main processes dealing with elements cycle and also the number and accumulation rate of some products of life activity.Study of biological activity has great significance in diagnostics of negative soil changes in the zone of intensive technogenic impact.Microorganisms composition of nitrogen cycle is the most significant factor in the estimate of biological soil activity.Due to physico-chemical soil conditions, microbes community, microorganisms supply with carbon and minerals soil may have either balanced nitrogen cycle,short-term or long-term prevailing one type of processes over the others.Investigations of biological activity of polluted soils due to intensity level of nitrogen cycle have been carried out in urbanized zones. The research covers all types of urban landscapes as compared with the standart sample soil activity has changed and depended upon the pollution level. The rate of nitrate formation is the most important indicator of soil activity. It testifies good condition of soil and active self-cleaning processes in it.The most susceptible indicators of soil pollution have turned out to be nitrogen-fixing and urea activities.
