Rice blast, caused by the fungal pathogen Magnaporthe oryzae, is one of the most serious diseases of cultivated rice worldwide.It has been found that pyramiding resistance genes (R) is the best way to control rice blast.However, the unregulatedexpression and activation of R genes can trigger autoimmunity or inhibit ricegrowth, which hinders breeding for disease resistance.
