Probiotic Lb.casei Zhang(identified as Lactobacillus casei subsp.casei) was screening from 240 strains of Lactobacilli isolated home-made koumiss in Inner Mongolia,Xingjiang and Mongolia.L.casei Zhang showed high tolerance to the simulated gastrointestinal digestion in vitro,the survival rate were 100.00%,69% and 31.15 % respectively after 3-hour incubation with pH3.0,2.5 and 2.0 simulated gastric juice,and was 95.37% after 8-hour incubation in simulated intestinal juice with pH8.0.The highest level of tolerance to bile salts ofL.casei Zhang was 1.6%,Adhesion rate to Caco-2 human epithelial cells line was 4.31% in vitro.
