Venice is the site of the most and famous worldwide production sector of artistic glasses,located in the Murano island close to the city,where almost one hundred furnaces have been operated since several centuries in glass art crafting.The artistic glass sector of Murano-Venice plays a quite specific and important role;indeed,the state of health of the sector is strictly connected to both touristic and economic aspects,as well as with a cultural tradition and heritage that the globalization of the market is actually threatening.
