Background, Motivation and Objective Estimating three-dimensional (3D) intra-cardiac vector flow by volumetric echocardiography is expected to be of benefit but remains technically challenging as blood within the left ventricle can move at relatively high velocities (e.g. 1 m/s) while acquisition rates remain moderate (~25-30 Hz). In order to overcome this limitation, we propose to estimate the 3D left ventricular (LV) flow field by reconstructing it from multiple 2D acquisitions at high frame rate. The aim of this study was to test this approach in silico.
