TiO2 nanocrystalline powders with various Zn doping levels from 0at% to 10at% were synthesized viasol–gel method with Tetrabutyl orthotitanate (TBOT) and zinc acetate as Ti and Zn source.The samples werecharacterized by various techniques such as XRD,TEM,SEM,diffuse absorption spectrum and I-V test.Theeffect of Zn doping on the performance of TiO2 powders has been systematically investigated.XRD results showthat all the prepared powders are Anatase TiO2;no ZnO was found when the samples were annealed at 400℃.There was still no peak belonging to ZnO was found even after the samples were annealed at 700℃,while EDXanalysis confirmed the existence of Zn in the samples.
