2016年8月26日下午,《新华字典》《现代汉语词典》汉英版合作协议签约仪式在商务印书馆会议室举行。来自中国社会科学院语言研究所、商务印书馆有限公司、牛津大学出版社(中国)有限公司的负责人以及多家新闻媒体出席了签约仪式。中国社会科学院语言研究所刘丹青所长首先在签约仪式上致辞。他指出,《新华字典》和《现代汉语词典》两部辞书是中国的语言学大师和语言所几代学人编纂和多次修订的成果,为中国的汉语学习、文化传播
On the afternoon of August 26, 2016, the signing ceremony of the Sino-British version of the “Xinhua Dictionary” and the “Modern Chinese Dictionary” was held in the conference room of the Commercial Press. From the Institute of Language, Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, Commercial Press Limited, Oxford University Press (China) Co., Ltd. and a number of news media attended the signing ceremony. Director Liu Danqing of the Institute of Language of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences first addressed the signing ceremony. He pointed out that the two dictionaries, Xinhua Dictionary and Modern Chinese Dictionary, are the result of compiling and revising Chinese linguistic masters and generations of scholars in the Chinese language for Chinese learning and cultural transmission
