Before I came into contact with Chen Hang and his recent ink painting creation named “New Landscape”, I was skeptical of the modernity of contemporary Chinese ink landscape painting. However, Chen Hang and his new experimental works of landscape painting changed my concern, but also provided me with the perspective of revisiting the modern ink and wash landscape painting.
