硫酸钾镁肥系美国生产的高效特种肥料，由含有硫酸钾和硫酸镁的天然矿石经过简单的粉碎加工而成，钾、镁、硫在该肥料中的含量为K2O：Mg：S=22：11：22。为验证硫酸钾镁肥作为基肥施用对蔬菜、茶叶产量和其他性状表现的效果，也为今后大面积推广使用提供科学依据，进行了本试验。
