Remote ischemic conditioning (RIC) including remote ischemic preconditioning (RIPC) and remote ischemic postconditioning (RIPostC) is widely reported to be able to prevent many organs, such as heart,brain, and skeletal muscle from ischemia-related injury.However, the clinical application of RIC is confined to treating myocardial infarction and stroke.Since RIC could prevent skeletal muscle from ischemiarelated injury, and was effective in heart and brain treatments, we hypothesized RIC could treat ischemiarelated injury of limbs, such as diabetic foot, Buergers disease, plantation of severed limb, and crush injury.As we know, many researches not only proved the promising clinical applications of RIC, but also researched the mechanisms in animal models.Our hypothesis could be confirmed by these researches.
